Rock Oil
An interesting little book about oil
written in ca. 1860. It is mostly written about the Pennsylvania and
other American oil discoveries. However there is a section on other oil
discoveries including Canada West. This would include Oil Springs
Ontario. I have included here the section on other sites. Apparently at
the time the Canadian Oil had a foul odour.
Local Military Historian Don Gibson brought this book to my attention
along with numerous other pics.
