Here are 12 pages from various Illustrated News Papers from ca1856 to ca.1866. The key page is the first item that shows an engraving from ca.1866 from Canada West. It shows a drilling rig in action from the period. Too bad there isn't more detail. Obviously the drilling rig is the reason for this posting.
